I got a letter from HM Revenue and Customs saying that they owe me £1,500. I called them this morning to check that this was actually true and that Dyson weren't going to claim it off me because of it being something to do with being in Malaysia on secondment for them. But apparently it's not Dyson's it's mine and they're sending me a cheque!

Wow! It's weird how money, which would have been mine anyway if I hadn't overpaid them, seems so much more exciting when it is unexpectedly given back.
