Cthulhu music...

cthulhu

Right... I am on the search for two types of cthulhu music!

1) Really creepy background scariness for normal scenes and when people are arriving etc.  If anyone has scary background music they use for cthulhu tabletop could you let me know what you use?

2) Music for actually bellydancing to... this still needs to be kinda creepy to be in keeping with the fact that we are basically doing a stage production of Shadow Over Innsmouth.  Weird underwater type music would also kinda work for some stuff.

Any help much appreciated!

Oh and the icon doesn't represent me despairing... it's just my new cthulhu icon because

Welllll.....there is a one band who've made several albums entirely based on the Cthulu mythos. They'd probably be pretty good background spookiness

You can listen to samples there.

If you're looking for something kinda Steampunky, you could try Abney Park

Dunno if that's the sort of thing you're looking for?

Metallica did a cthulhu instrumental...dunno if that would be any good, its pretty long.

the Romeo and Juliet opera music is pretty distinctive and good for cthulhu as well...

too early to think more than metal and death marches

Some of the BSG music might work for the bellydancing aspect. Not sure it'd quite be spooky enough though...

Almost certainly no help at all, (since its not really music) but this: http://www.coverpop.com/whitney/index.php?var=v0 has always sounded weird and get under my skin.

Like Taffdan said, the Metalica 'Kall of Kthulhu' is a pretty good instrumental.

We used to use Gregorian chants for our games, mixed with jazz tunes for whenever they were in a speakeasy or whatever.

Might be good for mood music, I think they're on iTunes.
There are a couple of creepyish tracks on the Beats Antique albums too.
