Work is still going well though, we're just had another pratcise meeting and its amazing to see how far its come in three years. From a tiny four room place next to a kebab shop with a few staff to the massive site its now in with all 70 of us :)
Its odd I keep forgetting that not every practise is like FPR and that we are working very much on the cutting edge of orthopedics, I've helped out in lord knows how many Total Hip Replacement ops (probably about 20), seen dogs and cats get new feet, and animals get endoprosthesis's replacing whole diseased bones! :O
The future is looking good, and challenging with big things happening (the TV series will start sometime in the winter I think which will be cool) and we have Royalty comming to officaly open the practise in a few weeks time! (seems that they are interested in what we do too and feel we should be "opened" :D )
Its a bit odd working with an almost entirely female team (two of the surgeons are male, and a few of the interns and kennle staff), the senior nurse described it best as "being David is like being effectively married to 60 woman" (with regards to work demands)
*note the outraged gf noises at this point, having never had it described to her like THAT before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**wrestles control of the keyboad back**
Even more exciting this weekend I get to go on a two day physio course for FREE!!! Woot no paying £ 500 for me! :D
Which means more stuff to add to my collection of CPD.

i apparently have jumped through the right hoops and have achieved the right targets and have (sorry i cringe as i write this because i know that you go over one of these) gone 'through' the thresh hold.
didn't know i was supposed to be but without knowing it i have.
apparently this is a good thing it means more money.
have to do some more training and then deliver training across the school both in drama and team teach positive handling. oh well not a bad start to the day.
also went in with an idea what targets i wanted for next year and why the school imposed targets where in places unachievable and that put me in a good position to get reasonable and achievable targets for next year.
not a bad day.

He sent me a proper long froth/catch up email and at the very end he managed to slip in a quick advertisement....
DYSON OBSESSED VACUM CLEANER STRUMPET!
No blades. No buffeting. Find out more at www.dysonairmultiplier.com
I decided no, I'm better than gunning for one person...
However, I have now been waiting two weeks for a singular five minute E-mail so I'm Fuck her...
I'd be doing the world a favour.....
All though I do hate the whole office politics thing....
6 November - my little brother crashed his first car.
The night of 6 November - I had a dream about mine and Roy's wedding. I was the usual cotrol freak, shouting at everyone and a nervous wreck in a fabulous violet gown and Roy was his usual calm and composed self in a fabulous black frock coat.
The weekend - I got Roy a sword and a telescope for his pirate larp character as his birthday gifts and he loved them :)
Very tired...

Got to bristol without too much bother, checked in bags and found my weighing of my suitcase last night wasnt exactly accurate, both my snowboard bag and suitcase were over my allowance by like 7kg between them so had to fork out £10 per extra kilo, what did they expect? I neeeeeeeed a million clothes and stuff and things! My mum offered to pay and I gratefully refused but my dad slipped me £50 anyway when I went to change some cash. Tbh my parents are amazing anyway and was really nice that I got to see them and not get a bus on my own there...
Flight was quick and painless as always to Geneva, saw some snow on the higher fields and got my luggage out in record time and into the car to come up here. Some really lovely autumn forest scenery, lots of vivid coloured leaves on the trees, crystal (though freezing looking) rivers and of course huge mountaints topped in snow where the clouds wernt hiding them.
Chalet is really cool, room isnt huge but is lovely and warm and comfy, just need to work out where to put everything and try not to mess up the en suite. Has a nice big wooden terrace outside on the first story looking over the garden of this massive old delapadated house that looks like it belongs in harry potter, oh and if i look left or right I can see the snowy foresty hights up to about 4000 meters, including some of the lower slopes that have started to have a bit of snow on them too!
The town seems pretty quiet atm this early in the season, met a bunch of people already as Laura walked me round to show me some cool shops and what bars are any good. Sharing a room with Tom from sweeden when he gets here on Thursday, I need to decide before then if I want the top or bottom bunk,...all in all feeling pretty cool and positive and looking forwards to going out later and seeing some more of this place.
Foolishly forgot the cable that connects my phone to my laptop so cant upload pictures, maybe will find one lying around, or get a french phone with one.
Still receiving texts as normal, but recieving calls costs me money, and none of my free minutes or txts work booo, hence getting french sim card at least.
Bit sad that cant share this with you guys n the girl I wanted to, ah well. Ce'la vi
Feeling more upbeat as I am assured that the Cryptic References are not anything I did, so here's a first draft hot or not
Hot
Monsters being keen, patient, enthused, and very very good
Crew
Chief Minion Stu being pretty much thrown in at the deep end and coping wonderfully
Emma, Voice of Lauren and Voice of Common Sense (first aider extraordinaire)
Licking players (now I own them)
Leander the Liger (so very cute with the little black nosey-wosey)
Nat getting Sunday sorted
DM running a great monster room
Malc. The guy is so nice, so helpful, and we had to practically force him to take anything for his trouble.
Port actuation
Keen players
Setup and security minions
Caterporium, and me not missing a single meal
Everyone lending radios
Lara, Max, Shaun, tent and plot rep wranglers extraordinaire
Brilliant crew
Full team of NPCs - Mr Page has been confirmed as starting his probation (or parole as I keep wanting to say)
Not getting too cold
Luminous hat, scarf, hobo gloves, hoodie, fleece, trousers and socks. Just undies and boots to go!
Luggage, her makeup jobs, her pants
The command team really pulling together and working as one
Greg
The long-threatened chorus of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" outside our tent. Suggestions on songs for vengeance on Sarah please... :)
Not
A few people giving the faction a bad name for safety so we had to pull fights
Not seeing one of my plotlines run out
Not seeing my friends
Going IC for a short time and having a shit time because I can't fight and couldn't cast or really be Romani without a voice, plus my Tepes hat and bunches confused people
Comments that I can't work out if they were roleplay or people being passive-aggressive about my OC actions
Losing my voice before Time In on Friday
People grabbing the will-o-whisp phys rep I was carrying and nearly breaking my fingers and my arm as they tried to wrest it from my grasp
Sense of humour failure (mine)
Issues
I'm not really sure where not having a radio goes on that list. It was both good and bad.
On the whole I think I had a good time. Only thought I'd be doing the faction a favour by quitting once, and saw that as and when I do go Stu will be perfectly capable of carrying on under pressure (not that I doubted it but it's good to have proof)
Form printed for Harts event, will post as soon as I have money. May yet make Lizzi and Andy's wedding. Would desperately like to.
Hot:
-Seeing everyone
-Ginger dredd men
-Using invoke
-Helping a rite
-Orbs, though have a sneaking suspicion they'll be back to kick our arses at some stage.
- Dr Tapper & the 95th sing-song.
Not:
-The drive to the site being sabotaged by a spider landing on the map when looking for a critical turning. I *really* don't like spiders & was holding the map..... needless to say we missed the turning....and ended up going in a huge loop via spondon!!!!
- Pitching tent in cold & dark & wet.
-The rain, cold, lying waterproof boots & socks and consequent cold me & cold wet feet.
- I can understand why, nor do I fault it IC, but OOC I was absolutely bored stupid most of the time & cold from being unable to fight or do anything due to a constant string of IC 'Dawn do not touch/do not go/do not fight/ do not look/do not pass go and do fuck all' etc. I am sure there was plot, I was just not let anywhere near it, either because folks had huge concern about Dawn's welfare, or huge concerns about their own welfare if anything happenned and Midnight got wind of it. Or both in some cases. I could have had a proper IC toddler tantrum but I suspect that would have only resulted in more No/don'ts, and furthermore Dawn is more of a whiner than a toys out the pram type. I very nearly didn't bother kitting up on the Sunday because of it.
- Again this is a situtation of my own doing, but I think my body clock works at totally different times to the caterers serving meals. And I cannot stand spicy food. The breakfasts were lovely though.I personally did not have an amazing sparkly OMG awesome event, it was ok. This no fault of the plot teams, ironically more the fault of my choice of character and excellent roleplay.
I think the site would be great for a spring event when it's drier & safer.

Did not go to the Unicorns because I'm running a conference in Miami next week.
Did sort out heating for the bedroom.
Did do a lot of sleeping.
Finished Andrea's book project.
Didn't start my dress, despite being very keen, because the pattern hasn't arrived and I'm away all week.
All in all, apart from the book project, I don't feel very Liss-like at all! Never mind - I shall soak up some Floridian sun and return solar-powered.

I don't think I ever truly realised how bad our country is for Bureaucracy However I am kicking many asses and taking many names :)
Meanwhile, there's no news on my dying mother...
Borderlands. Looks fun. Anyone tried it? Anyone want to?
Torchlight. Again looks pretty good, seems to be basically Diablo without the online part (yet, they say the will get that sorted next year)
D&D online. Its free. Anyone else playing?
Just discovered that one of my neighbours has an unencrypted wireless network, so for the time being free internets!

Dan and I don't agree on this. He says that it's literally sending money up in smoke, which could be used for more important things like street cleaning and security and so on.
And he's right, of course.
But my point is that it's the ONLY time London suburbs come together in any semblance of community spirit. A Christmas tree in the main street doesn't get everyone gathered in the same place, laughing and chatting with complete strangers. And it's also the only time that council tax money is used to make people uncomplicatedly happy, even if for a very short time. So I consider it a very good use, especially when the council in question goes to such an effort as Streatham.
They had signed meeting points, so you could find your friends in the dark.
They had a soundtrack, including Thriller and Pirates of the Caribbean.
They had ENORMOUS explosions, and pretty shimmery glitters, and a grand finale which basically consisted of setting everything off at once and turning the sky red and green and gold.
And Si brought mulled wine in a thermos, and mugs. I was impressed.
